DC or AC
The motor decides the noise and the slow speed.
DC is the gold standard and what we recommend: noticeably quieter, more speeds, a genuinely slow bottom speed and less power for the same air movement. Most obvious in a bedroom you sleep in, but true in every room.
AC fans are simpler and cheaper, and we still install them where that is specifically what you want. Tell us at quoting and we will fit what you have asked for.

Mounting and control
The fixing point matters more than the fan.
A fan needs a fixing that can carry its weight and its movement for years. Replacing like for like where the existing mounting is sound is straightforward; a new position needs a proper fixing and a circuit to feed it.
If you want a wall control rather than a remote, say so before installation — retrofitting one later can mean opening the wall.
