- Where you actually want dimming, and where a simple switch is fine.
- Whether any rooms are under-lit today and need more fittings rather than the same count.
- Whether outdoor and security lighting goes in at the same time.
Under-lit rooms are worth raising before the work, not after. Adding a fitting later means going back into a ceiling that has just been finished.
